Hepatitis-B Vaccination

Hepatitis-B Vaccination

Since 1984, Posh Garments Ltd has been engaged in manufacturing and exporting ready-made garment products. During the past three and a half decades, we have grown along with our experienced staffs as a tight-knitfamily.

We have faced the roughest of patches together through economic crisis, environmental disasters, and harsh pandemic known to mankind. These events have made us appreciate the value of each other and more aware to the significance of precautions and preventive measures.

We took several programs to keep health as a top priority for all those who are involved with Posh Garments Ltd. One of these successful programs were the vaccination for Hepatitis-B that was systematically provided to two-hundred and ten individuals who are part of the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility.

This vaccination program was not imposed on our employees and workers. First, an awareness program was carried out to highlight the health benefits of this vaccine.

Our employees who accepted the vaccine has chosen to do so his / her free will. Through these health-care programs, Posh Garments aims to uphold their ethical values and continue to set a benchmark for ready-made garments manufacturers and also the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).

Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infection is a global health problem: An estimated two billion people (one-third of the global population) have been infected with HBV at some point in their life. More than 350 million suffer from chronic HBV infection, resulting in over 600,000 deaths each year mainly from cirrhosis or liver cancer.

Enhanced viral replication leading to a vigorous and extensive immune response may lead to massive liver injury resulting spontaneously into fulminant hepatic failure.

The seriousness of disease is mainly related to various host factors inclusive of age, gender, duration of infection, immune response and viral factors such as viral load, genotype, and quasi-species. Recent evidence shows that considerable molecular variation occurs throughout the HBV genome, which is correlated with geographical distribution of genotypes and severity of disease.

The Hepatitis-B vaccine was carried out by six specialists from Incepta Pharmaceuticals, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in our country.

Incepta’s vaccine named Hepa-B has been recognized as safe and effective medicine.  Hepa-B is designed for active immunization against infection caused by all known subtypes of Hepatitis B virus.

As Hepatitis D caused by the delta virus does not occur in the absence of Hepatitis B infection, it can be expected that Hepatitis D will also be prevented by Hepatitis B vaccination.

Immunization is recommended to individuals of all ages, especially those who are at increased risk of exposure to Hepatitis B virus, for example: adolescents, healthcare personnel, residents and staff of institutions.

Subpopulations with a known high occurrence of the disease and those who travel to high-risk areas may be at risk.  Many others may also be exposed through their work or personal life-style especially in our South-East Asian regions.

Due to the high density of population in our country and the respective operational areas, our management is quite aware of the risks that such diseases impose.

Therefore, the management of Posh Garments Ltd has taken the decision to continue with similar programs in the future whenever the opportunity arises.
